Job summary

The City of Grand Forks ND is seeking a dependable Sanitation Collection Equipment Operator to keep our community clean and healthy. You will operate collection equipment to complete routes safely and efficiently, while performing pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities include handling refuse and recyclables, assisting with street maintenance during peak times, and delivering excellent customer service to residents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operating light, medium, and heavy equipment; adherence to safety practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech; maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to perform duties in varying weather and physically demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Collect refuse and recyclables using manual or automated equipment.
• Operate collection trucks and hydraulic compactors; assist with landfill unloading.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and daily equipment maintenance.
• Assist with container maintenance, repairs, and seasonal street operations.
• Provide professional customer service to residents and address concerns.
