Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sanitation Assistant to manage housekeeping duties at the Low Barrier Shelter. The role includes cleaning, maintaining facilities to OHL standards, and keeping grounds neat.

The position requires reliable, detail-oriented individuals with good communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition.
• Perform duties such as cleaning floors, showers, walls and drains, living quarters, washing walls, windows and handrails.
• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies.
• Disinfect equipment and supplies, ensuring safe storage and care of products.
• Polish furniture and room accessories as needed.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Monitor chemicals by tracking chemicals with sign in/out sheet.
• Maintain daily log of duties performed and time.
• Clean rooms, hallways, dining rooms and group rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, dorm rooms and other work areas.
• Empty wastebaskets, transport trash to disposal areas.
• Transport of supplies (reimbursed for travel).
• Empty all trash, clean dining rooms and kitchens.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure services provided efficiently.
• Work with staff to discuss cleaning policies.
• Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after hours.
• Deep clean all facilities every two weeks.
• Clean bathroom floors twice a week.
• Report repairs and replacements when encountered.
• Light maintenance work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sanitation Assistant.The Sanitation Assistant will be responsible for all housekeeping duties of theLow Barrier Shelter. The assistant will performa variety of cleaning and maintenance duties. The assistant will overseemaintaining program sites/facilities to OHL’s standards. Duties will include cleaningand keeping the grounds neat.
