POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists in the daily sanitation clean-up of entire plant area. This position must also demonstrate ability to utilize time productively and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Follows outlined duties in areas assigned for the plant sanitation to include painting, and scraping.
• Follows sanitation procedures as assigned during downtime clean‑ups.
• Completes tasks assigned during special clean‑ups.
• Accomplishes mechanical tasks using a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Performs other related work as required.
• Complies with all safety regulations and follows safe methods in sanitation and chemical usage.
• Reports all accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the QA Manager or Supervisor.
• Maintains any logs as required.
• Assists janitorial staff as directed.
• Uses Panel Views to operate equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

• Must be able to work with limited supervision and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Can perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Communicates effectively in English commensurate with the requirements of this position.
• Has knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, sanitation practices, and Product Trace & Recovery pertaining to the food industry.
• Maintains personal hygiene that meets company and government sanitation requirements.
• Abides by safety rules as outlined in company policies and procedures.
• Is comfortable working in moderate noise level work environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Or up to one month related experience or training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands include:

• Primarily sedentary work that involves sitting or standing.
• Light work moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Medium work moving objects up to 50 pounds.
• Heavy work moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
