Bell & Evans in Fredericksburg, PA is seeking dependable sanitation team members for the 3rd shift. You will maintain a clean, safe, and food-safe production environment by cleaning processing rooms, equipment, and facility areas in line with USDA, QA standards and company policies.

This 3rd shift offers 6 hours paid with Monday–Friday, 11:55pm–5:00am, and full-time benefits. The role emphasizes food safety, independent work, and attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Sanitation or food production experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Willing to work in wet, hot, cold, and chemical environments while wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and facility areas.
• Follow the 7 Steps of Sanitation procedures.
• Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment and areas.
• Ensure areas are inspection-ready for QA and USDA review.
• Safely handle sanitation chemicals per procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, PPE, and workplace safety.
• Report sanitation, equipment, or safety concerns to leadership promptly.
• Meet production schedules and startup times.
• Keep the shift clean and organized; support additional sanitation duties.

At Bell & Evans, we are looking for dependable and detail-oriented team members to join our Sanitation team. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe production environment through the proper cleaning and sanitizing of processing rooms, production equipment, and facility areas in accordance with USDA, Quality Assurance, and company standards.

This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, understand the importance of food safety, and can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Sanitation team members play a critical role in ensuring production areas are inspection-ready and prepared for daily operations.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for safely cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment, production lines, and facility areas while following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Performs pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment and production areas meet USDA and Quality Assurance standards before the start of production.

Plant 2:

**3rd Shift Available; 6 hours paid; Monday - Friday; 11:55pm - 5:00am**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and facility areas using high-pressure hoses, cleaning chemicals, and sanitation tools.
• Follow and understand all 7 Steps of Sanitation procedures.
• Perform pre-operational (Pre-Op) self-inspections on equipment and general production areas including floors, walls, drains, and workspaces.
• Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed thoroughly and production areas are inspection-ready for Quality Assurance and USDA review.
• Safely handle and apply sanitation chemicals in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with all food safety, GMP, PPE, and workplace safety requirements.
• Identify and report any sanitation, equipment, or safety concerns to leadership promptly.
• Work efficiently to ensure production schedules and startup times are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the shift.
• Support team operations and assist with additional sanitation duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous sanitation, industrial cleaning, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and cleanliness standards.
• Ability to consistently lift, push, and pull at least 20 pounds.
• Comfortable working in wet, humid, hot, cold, and chemical-exposed environments while wearing required PPE.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility with scheduling.
