Job summary

Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is seeking Sanitarians for our meat processing facility in Chicago's Stockyards. This role focuses on cleaning the facility and equipment to GMP/HACCP/OSHA standards, and supporting QA to pass USDA/SQF inspections.

You must be able to work third shift (10:30pm–7:00am), lift up to 50 pounds, push up to 70 pounds, and be willing to work overtime. CMA offers a starting rate of $18.76 per hour and a Meat Purchase Program.

Responsibilities

• Clean the facility and equipment per SOPs, GMPs, HACCP and OSHA standards.
• Sanitize facility and equipment with hot water and proper chemicals.
• Break down, sanitize, and reassemble equipment with care.
• Coordinate with QA and Management to pass USDA and SQF inspections.
• Clean non-production areas.

Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is proud to have celebrated 36 years in the food industry. Located in Chicago's historic Stockyards, CMA is a forward thinking processor of value added beef, pork, and poultry items with a strong focus on selling the Healthcare, Hotel, and Institutional Markets (HRI), meat purveyors, and Multi-unit regional and national chains up to and including big box stores. In addition, CMA specializes in custom cuts for further processors including but not limited to grinding operations, deli manufacturers, and the prepared entrée market.

CMA is seeking Sanitarians for our meat processing facility.

What You Get To Do:

• Clean the facility and all equipment; including wall to wall, ceiling to floor according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Hazards Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
• Use hot water and chemicals of proper strength to sanitize facility and equipment.
• Breakdown equipment to sanitize and reassemble equipment with care.
• Pre-operation: work closely with Quality Assurance and Management to ensure equipment passes inspection according to USDA and SQF regulations.
• Clean non-production areas.

• To wear all personal protective equipment.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safely.
• Previous sanitation experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 70 pounds depending on specific function being performed.
• Ability to crouch and bend repeatedly.
• Ability to work with cold materials in a cold, humid environment.
