The City of Chicago is seeking a Sanitary Engineer II for the Department of Water Management, Bureau of Water Quality. This open-competitive position involves field inspections, sampling, sterilization, and reporting on water quality under supervision.

This position is open to the public and all current city employees covered under the City's Collective Bargaining Agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.
Under immediate supervision, performs entry level professional sanitary engineering work in connection with water quality control and sterilization and the installation of City water systems. This water quality and environmental engineering position performs duties maintaining water distribution systems, and performs related duties as required.
Additional duties may be required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Sanitary, Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or a directly related field of engineering.
Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications: A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required.
