Job summary

Maniilaq Association seeks a Relief SANE RN to perform medical-forensic assessments for adolescents and adults reporting interpersonal violence in Kotzebue, AK. The RN will deliver quality nursing care per Alaska Nurse Practice Act within a crisis environment and in collaboration with law enforcement and advocacy partners.

Responsibilities include conducting exams, documenting findings, forming discharge plans, and providing patient education and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited program and active RN license.
• ACLS preferred; willing to obtain ACLS within 90 days of hire.
• Current SANE-A and/or SANE-P preferred; willing to obtain certification within 18 months.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical-forensic assessments and exams per program protocols.
• Collect specimens for STI, pregnancy, and substance use testing.
• Document findings using charts; provide discharge planning.
• Provide testimony in court regarding care and exam findings.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy agencies as needed.
