Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to deliver timely, compassionate care to sexual assault victims. The role may include medical-forensic exams, pregnancy/STI prophylaxis, photography, and referrals for follow-up and legal actions.

Requirements include a Texas RN license; BSN preferred; SANE certification or progress toward certification within 6 months; and 2 years of ED/acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Texas RN license; SANE certification preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of Emergency Department or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to sexual assault victims.
• Perform medical-forensic exams and document findings.
• Coordinate referrals for medical, psychological follow-up and legal proceedings.
