Job summary

Sandy City is hiring for a part-time Youth Programs Coordinator at the Sandy Recreation Center – Parks & Recreation. Under supervision, you will organize and supervise youth programs and participants.

The position is open until filled with review beginning October 13, 2026, and offers a starting wage of $17.44 to $27.91 per hour for non-benefited, up to 29 hours weekly. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements including a high school diploma and Utah driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience with youth recreation, camps, or related programs.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s license.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of games, sports, recreation, arts and crafts, storytelling and music.
• Leadership, team building, and self-motivation skills and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication in verbal and written form.

Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Youth Camp Site Supervisor and Youth Programs and Day Care Coordinator, organizes and supervises youth programs and participants.

STARTING SALARY: $17.44 - $27.91/Hour

STATUS: Part-Time (non-benefitted, <29 hours/week)

DEPARTMENT: Sandy Recreation Center – Parks & Recreation

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Requires experience in job-related activities, including working with youth recreation, camps, or related programs; must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s license. CPR and First Aid certification preferred. Knowledge of games, sports, recreation, arts and crafts, storytelling and music; leadership, team building, and self-motivation skills and problem-solving skills; correct English usage, spelling and vocabulary. Great responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment, tools, etc.; great responsibility for making decisions affecting the activities of people, including responsibility for worker motivation and satisfaction. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, employees, staff and the public; contacts requiring tact and judgment to avoid friction and obtain desired result; outside contact with public presenting information. Regular use of a copy machine and telephone; occasional use of a personal computer, and city vehicle. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
