Essential Cabinetry Group is seeking a dedicated Sander - Production for a full-time role in Mifflintown, PA. The position runs Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and involves preparing cabinets for finishing using hand tools and an orbital sander.

You will inspect incoming parts for quality adherence and verify your work before pieces move forward. The role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to stand for long periods.

This full-time, Sander - Production (Mon-Fri 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM) position is based in Mifflintown, PA, and offers an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to a culture built on quality, integrity, and teamwork.

The sander is detail oriented and will be responsible for using hand operated orbital sander and other tools to prepare cabinets and compartments for finishing. This position inspects all incoming parts for adherence to quality standards and verifies own work to ensure it meets standards before allowing pieces to move forward. The position requires strong attention to detail, accountability to self and others, and interdepartmental communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the CARE values of the organization.
• Commit to producing a quality product for our customers.
• Use orbital sander to sand and clean drawers and doors to smooth surface and correct any deficiencies.
• Prepare surface for paint/stain using appropriate hand tools.
• Feel surface of sanded article and visually inspect to verify quality of finished workpieces.
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
• Read labels and instructions carefully and ensure completed pieces are placed correctly on rack by order.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Completes and maintains documentation for parts.
• All other duties as assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• Must be able to operate orbital sander and other hand tools
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong basic math skills.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time while performing repetitive motions.
• 2+ years related experience preferred.
  
  

Working Relationship

Communication is required across all levels of the organization executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates, and production floor workers. The Sander works under the immediate supervision of the Department Supervisor.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time
• Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period

Safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes at all times while in the production floor.

Safety

This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor.
