Job summary

Nor-ell is seeking a Sander/Blaster to finish metal parts on 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., with possible overtime. The role involves preparing surfaces for finishing and ensuring quality.

You will grind, sand, and polish parts, inspect for defects, read simple blueprints, and record data. A high school diploma or GED and basic English are required, with preferred manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or demonstrated competence.
• Able to read and understand English.
• Basic addition and subtraction.
• Read simple mechanical blueprints.
• Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Grind, sand, clean, or polish parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing.
• Mark defects for repair.
• Measure and mark equipment or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
• Verify the quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
• Record product and processing data on specified forms.
• Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or worktables and inspect the surface of the workpiece for defects.
• Polish ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surface.
• Replace worn abrasive disks, wheels and belts as required.

The incumbent will work 8-hour shifts, Monday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Some overtime work may be required.
