Douds Stone, LLC is a southeast Iowa business. We have been in business for 90 years providing quality rock, sand, gravel and limestone to our customers. Currently Douds Stone, LLC has 12 open pit quarries and 2 sand operations. Our locations stretch from Eddyville, IA to Wever, IA and as far north as Keswick, IA.

Position Summary:

The Plant Assistant supports daily operations of a sand processing facility by assisting with equipment operation, maintenance, material handling, and site organization. This role ensures efficient production, quality control, and a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the operation of sand processing equipment (wash plants, conveyors, screens, pumps)
• Monitor material flow and ensure consistent production rates
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report issues to plant supervisor
• Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repairs
• Operate mobile equipment as needed (skid steer, etc.)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant and surrounding areas
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements
• Support plant shutdown and startup procedures
