The Norris Asphalt Paving Company in Mount Pleasant, IA is seeking a Floating Loadout Operator to safely load trucks with aggregate materials across multiple quarry locations, while upholding high standards of customer service, safety, and efficiency.

You will operate loadout systems for rock, sand and gravel, verify tonnage and order details, maintain load tickets, and communicate with scale operators and drivers.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in loading operations.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• The Floating Loadout Operator safely loads trucks with aggregate materials while upholding safety and service standards.
• Role floats between multiple quarry locations to support staffing and operations.
• Operate loadout systems to load rock, sand and gravel.
• Verify product type, tonnage, and customer order details before loading.
• Maintain load tickets and ensure proper documentation.
• Communicate clearly with scale operators and truck drivers.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Monitor stockpile levels and report production or inventory concerns.
• Keep loadout areas clean and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety policies, MSHA regulations, and site procedures.
• Assist with general plant or yard duties when loadout operations are slow.
• Travel between quarry locations as assigned.

Position Summary

The Floating Loadout Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently loading customer trucks with aggregate materials while maintaining high standards of customer service, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. This role “floats” between multiple quarry locations as needed to support staffing and operational demands.

Operate loadout systems to accurately load trucks with aggregate materials (rock, sand, gravel).

Verify product type, tonnage, and customer order details before loading.

Maintain accurate load tickets and ensure proper documentation.

Communicate clearly with scale operators and truck drivers.

Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.

Monitor stockpile levels and report production or inventory concerns.
