Job summary

Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica, IN seeks a hands-on molding operator for first shift on our automated line to help create large sand molds used in steel casting.

You will work in a team to complete mold assembly steps, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and operating within a loud, industrious environment. Training and benefits provided, with potential for advancement within the foundry.

Qualifications

• Hands-on work with attention to detail and safety.
• Basic math and reading skills for measurements and instructions.
• Able to identify and resolve problems quickly.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in mold assembly.
• Follows safety procedures and uses PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate sand mixer to fill the pattern box with sand.
• Use a hand drill to drill holes in the sand mold.
• Paint molds with refractory coating.
• Assemble and position cores within the mold.
• Join mold halves to complete the assembly process.
