Citi is seeking a Sanctions Junior Analyst for a maternity cover in a hybrid setup. The role focuses on sanctions screening within a global financial institution, performing verification of transactions and documentation while collaborating with multiple units to maintain compliance.

Candidates should have sanctions experience or related AML/KYC knowledge, strong English skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience in sanctions (AML, KYC, Compliance) is a plus.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken) at least B2.
• Excellent attention to detail with a service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify transactions and documentation against sanctions requirements within defined timelines.
• Collaborate with other bank units.
• Ensure compliance with Citi procedures and rules.
• Manage orders from receipt to completion (status tracking, queries, reminders).
• Identify and escalate issues encountered during daily activities.
• Provide support to other teams as directed by the manager.
• Uphold risk management and compliance to protect Citi and clients.

Sanctions Screening HUB is a specialized unit providing sanctions control services. The HUB was created in June 2015 and has consistently expanded its range of services and geographical coverage since then. The team places special emphasis on providing the highest quality services combined with timely performance, while ensuring that operational activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Global Sanctions Policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform verification of transactions and documentation against sanctions requirements within defined timelines
• Collaborate with other bank units
• Ensure compliance with the procedures and rules prevailing at Citi
• Active order management from receipt to completion (status tracking, handling queries, sending reminders)
• Identify and elevate issues encountered during daily activities
• Provide support to other teams as directed by the manager
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and reporting control issues with transparency

Requirements

• Experience in sanctions or a related area (AML, KYC, Compliance) will be an asset
• Good command of English, both written and spoken (B2 or higher)
• Strong attention to detail
• Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on service quality
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines
• Readiness to work in shifts (early – 7:00 AM, mid – 9:00 AM, late – 11:30 AM), including public holidays
