Job summary

Unisys Corporation is seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to support Storage Area Networks and NAS, and to deliver L3 support across enterprise systems. The role includes automating routines, performing daily administration, and leading incident resolution in alignment with ITIL practices.

The candidate will work with SAN/NAS solutions like Brocade, Cisco MDS, Dell EMC Unity/PowerMax/PowerStore, and participate in proactive improvement plans and technical training when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• 7 years of storage, SAN/NAS experience including admin, architecture, security, backup.
• Experience with SAN fabrics (Brocade/Cisco MDS) and EMC Unity/PowerMax/PowerStore.

Responsibilities

• Support functionality and efficiency of Storage, including SAN and NAS.
• Deliver second/third level remote support to resolve enterprise system issues.
• Serve as the L3 support expert for L1/L2 teams and manage escalations.
• Identify and automate regular storage support routines based on client needs.
• Deliver daily storage administration tasks and monitor storage devices.
• Perform daily checks, analyze logs, and perform performance tuning and backups.
• Conduct incident investigations and define proactive service improvement plans.
• Execute incident, change, and problem management per ITIL standards.
• Review and approve infrastructure change requests and perform impact analysis.
• Prepare and coordinate technical documentation and ensure accuracy.
• Suggest, develop, and conduct user training and technical training.

Job description

What success looks like in this role:

• Support functionality and efficiency of Storage, including Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage;
• Deliver second and/or third level remote support services to clients to resolve product use and multi-product/platform problems relating to enterprise systems, networks, and application software;
• Serve as the L3 support expert for the L1 and L2 teams and supporting issue resolution and escalations across all the assigned client deliveries;
• Identify and automate the regular storage support routines based on client and infrastructure requirements;
• Deliver daily steady state tasks such as storage administration; and monitor, maintain, and update storage devices;
• Perform daily checks on storage devices, analyze logs, conduct performance tuning of storage arrays and devices, and ensure required backups for all possible recovery scenarios;
• Conduct incident investigations and perform troubleshooting to resolve incidents and define proactive Service improvement plans to support the delivery of technical solutions to a wide range of problems ensuring Steady State delivery teams execute and deliver continuous improvement in alignment with the defined plans;
• Execute incident management, change management, and problem management in line with ITIL standards;
• Review and approve infrastructure change requests, work on delivery of complex infrastructure change requests, and perform impact analysis before any change is approved in the ITSM tool;
• Prepare, approve, and coordinate the implementation of technical documentation and ensure that technical and customer documentation is current and complete; and
• Suggest, develop, and conduct user training, technical training, and orientation.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology; Network Administration; Computer Engineering, or a closely related field;
• Must have 7 years of experience in job offered, 7 years domain work experience related to Storage including the administration, architecting, configuration, security, failover, backup, and optimization of Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage systems.
• Must have 7 years of work experience with the following: Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage, Brocade, Cisco MDS SAN, Dell EMC Storage, Unity, PowerMax, Recover Point, Powerstore.
• Position permits remote work up to 5 days per week throughout the U.S.
