ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER, RETAIL $19.57 per hour FULL-TIME/BENEFITED - DOE/DOQ

The Salvation Army is looking to celebrate the re-opening of our San Rafael Store!

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate POS/Cash Register and supervise store employees.
  • Valid Driver's license with proof of insurance.
  • Pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, employees, customers, and donors.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as carts, fixtures, and furniture.
  • Operate a telephone.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform repetitive motion tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations.
  2. Take responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Provide coaching, training, and development to employees.
  4. Maintain good relations with customers, donors, and the community; resolve complaints; ensure quick and efficient service.
  5. Coordinate daily team meetings in the absence of the Store Manager.
  6. Supervise employees to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
  7. Train new personnel on store policies and procedures.
Position Involvement:

Merchandising, BRP (Back Room Processing), Personnel Issues, Time and Attendance, Employee Training

Qualifications:
  • 2 years supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Valid California Driver License & Vehicle Insurance (required).
  • 1 year experience in store operations (required).
  • 2 years experience in POS/Cash Register operation, employee scheduling, and supervision (required).
  • 2 years experience in retail/sales (required).
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Driver's License (preferred).
