Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Sample Technician to manage all sample requests and coordinate with product development, production and shipping to fulfil them. You will operate on the production floor to obtain samples and maintain stock inventory while tracking changes and resolving discrepancies.

The role requires adherence to PPE, safety, GMP practices, and environmental standards. On the job you will print Work Orders, issue materials to Work Orders, close them, and support safety and environmental

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of GMP and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfilling sample requests by coordinating with various departments to obtain samples.
  • Tracking information related to requests, development & shipment on a computer.
  • Obtaining samples on the production floor.
  • Maintain stock inventory of samples.
  • Follow safety, environmental and PPE protocols.

Job description

Sample Technician will be responsible for all sample requests and coordinate with the product development, production and shipping departments to fulfil all sample requests. The candidate will work on the production floor to obtain samples. They will maintain stock inventory for samples. Track inventory change, research problems with inventory and report concerns to appropriate department. The Sample Technician will be exposed to dusty and loud conditions at times so PPE is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fulfilling sample requests by coordinating with various departments to obtain samples
  • Tracking relevant information related to requests, sample development & shipment on a computer
  • Obtaining samples on the production floor
  • Maintain stock inventory of samples
  • Works with management to dispose of obsolete, damaged, hazardous and expired material
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
  • Prints Work Orders and attachments
  • Issues Materials to Work Orders
  • Closes Work Orders
  • Follows all environmental, health and safety protocols
  • Provides support for all safety and environmental initiatives
  • Proactively attempts to prevent all accidents and eliminate all unsafe conditions
  • Demonstrates management's commitment to safety
Required Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Similar or related experience desired: 1-2 years manufacturing experience, understanding of GMP, preferable manufacturing/warehouse experience, ability to learn operations procedures
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Forklift/Material Handling, Inventory Control
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Bench laboratory skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret formulas and results
  • ability to lift 50 lbs.

Environment and/or Physical Factors
  • Work is performing in the plant field and may require the use of protective clothing & personal devices: Safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, mask, goggles, insulated gloves, safety vest, harness, hair net, slicker suit, self-contained breathing apparatus: 66-100%
  • Frequent lifting (Up to 50 lbs.), squatting, climbing, standing, bending, walking, and operating mobile equipment
  • Seldom work in temperature change (Ranges from 70 to ambient) and office work
  • Rarely operating heavy equipment
Shift
  • Day shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

$18.90 - $23.61 an hour

The actual wage paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, specific skills, licenses and certifications, experience, and training.
