Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Packager at our Waterway location in Chicago. The role focuses on efficient packaging operations, safety, quality, and data recording.

Responsibilities include operating packaging equipment, weighing and sampling packages, moving pallets, and entering work orders in JOE while maintaining logs in E1. The position requires forklift operation, familiarity with process data, and flexibility to rotate shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd) with shift premium on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a licensed forklift operator and able to operate a spotter tractor.
  • Capable of accurately completing log sheets and reports, and using basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot packaging equipment and instrumentation.
  • Select, prepare, fill, sample, weigh and move packages for product packaging.
  • Move pallets and containers using a forklift and other equipment.
  • Enter work orders in JOE as needed.
  • Maintain logs and data in E1 system and spreadsheets.

Job description

Innophos is seeking a Packager at our Waterway location in Chicago. The right candidate will be responsible for overall efficient operation of the position including safety, quantity, quality, housekeeping, record keeping, environmental, etc.

  • Observes and operates all equipment and instrumentation, troubleshoots, adjusts equipment, cleans equipment and records data on appropriate logs and spreadsheets, as well as in E1 system
  • Selects, prepares, fills, samples, weighs and moves a variety of packages and containers as required for the proper packaging of product
  • Moves pallets, containers and equipment throughout a restricted space using a forklift
  • Enters work orders in JOE as needed
  • Rotating Shift – 1stshift (6:30 am-2:30 pm), 2ndshift (2:30 pm-10:30 pm), 3rdshift (10:30 pm-6:30 am) Monday - Sunday
  • Initially assigned to 1stshift for training
  • A typical 4 week schedule may be:
    3rd Shift for 7 days with 2 days off following then,
    2nd Shift for 7 days with 1 day off following then,
    1st Shift for 7 days with 4 days off following
  • Required to rotate between all 3 shifts – shift premium applied on 2ndand 3rdshifts
  • Alternative work schedules may be required based on site business needs
  • Eligible for overtime pay on hours worked that exceed 8/day and 40/week
  • Bi-weekly paid on Friday’s

  • Must be a licensed lift truck operator and able to operate spotter tractor
  • Computer literacy
  • Capable of accurately completing log sheets/reports (both paper and electronic), understanding written material, performing basic mathematics and making appropriate transactions in E1
  • Demonstrates knowledge of process flow description (PFD), key process control points, process description, rounds sheets and data sheets, analytical specifications and their control; all relevant job analyses and appropriate troubleshooting
  • Demonstration of knowledge in requirements and responsibilities including written and oral testing along with physical operation of equipment to meet minimum standards of acceptability
  • Ability to self-identify and request training related to job duties as needed
  • Must have a good attendance record and be available to work changing shifts and schedules
