Job summary

Synthomer is seeking a detail-oriented Jefferson Sample Room Clerk in the Sample Shipment area to manage repackaging, labeling and shipping of Hazmat and non-hazmat samples. You’ll maintain stock, process orders, and ensure compliance with DOT/IATA shipping rules.

The role requires meticulous records, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and collaboration with multiple teams to meet shipping timelines and accuracy targets.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum High School education or the equivalent.
• Valid state driver's license and lift truck operator’s license/training.
• Detail oriented and able to understand and comply with complex regulatory requirements.
• Possess and practice good organizational skills.
• Lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Be a team player and able to multi-task with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock of products that are available and suitable for immediate shipment.
• Maintain stock of packaging supplies.
• Obtain sample orders and interpret delivery notes.
• Properly use safety equipment during repackaging operations.
• Repackage Hazmat and non-Hazmat materials into sample containers.
• Generate and apply labels for containers and packaging.
• Remain current with regulations and training for processing Hazmat shipments.
• Complete all SAP transactions involved with sample shipments.
• Use hazardous shipments software to prepare and process Hazmat sample shipments.
• Coordinate and process miscellaneous shipping orders (MSOs).
• Maintain records of sample shipments and general area housekeeping.
• Provide vacation/absentee coverage for other Shipping area positions.
