Job description

We have been retained by a highly regarded service provider in building products to identify a Sample Designer / Estimator to support project quoting, cost estimating, CAD design, prototyping, and quality/process improvement initiatives. This role partners with Sales, Engineering, Production, and QA to turn concepts into accurate estimates, detailed drawings, and production-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quotes and cost estimates for new products and sample projects
• Create and maintain CAD drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support prototyping, R&D, and process development efforts
• Generate CNC programs and support specialty manufacturing equipment
• Collaborate with Production and QA to resolve design and quality issues
• Help establish safety, quality, and process standards
• Travel occasionally to branch locations or customer sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4–7 years of related experience
• Experience with estimating, manufacturing processes, and BOM creation
• CNC programming and 3D printing knowledge preferred
• Proficient with Excel and standard business software
• Strong technical, math, and problem-solving skills
