Job summary

CA&M, Inc. seeks experienced SAMFE Standardized Patients to portray sexual assault case criteria in simulated clinical settings. SPs must recreate history, personality, physical findings, and emotional responses for learner evaluation.

This intermittent, on-call work is tied to scheduled training events; SPs should be comfortable discussing SAFE during procedures and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Familiar with the anatomy related to SAMFE exams.
• Ability to discuss the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) while performed.
• High level of comfort with their own body and clear communication.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Must deliver concise and relevant learner feedback.

Responsibilities

• Teach and portray the medical-forensic history and physical assessment skills in a simulated environment.
• Provide feedback and evaluate learner performance during training events.
• Recreate the history, personality, physical findings and emotional responses of a sexual assault case.
• Maintain hygiene and adhere to clinical safety standards during SP encounters.

Job description

CA&M, Inc. is now accepting resumes from experienced SAMFE Standardized Patients that can portray the physical and emotional criteria of a sexual assault case as well retain and assess the details of each student encounter. Standardized patients must, accurately and consistently, recreate the history, personality, physical findings, and emotional structure and response pattern of a sexual assault.

SAMFE Standardized Patients teach and portray a medical-forensic history, physical assessment skills, including genital exam and speculum insertion, evidence collection and trauma-informed clinical skills, using their own body as the model, in a simulated clinical environment. The SP also provides feedback and evaluates learner performance.
This is intermittent/on-call work tied to scheduled training events

Requirements

• Each Standardized Patient is required to be familiar the female genital anatomy.
• SPs also need to be familiar with vaginal and rectal anatomy and sexual assault medical forensic exams.
• Each SPs is required to be familiar with the anatomy relating specifically to SAMFE exams and interactive skills to relate the needed information/feedback during each encounter.
• The SP's is required to have the ability to discuss the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) while being performed on them as indicated by the instructor.
• The SP must have a high level of comfort with their own body along with clear and concise communication skills.
  
• No physical health conditions contradicting the assigned case may exist during performance as an SP.
• Each SP must maintain appropriate hygiene to include the anogenital area and be free of active Sexually Transmitted Infection such as outbreak HSV.
  
• Must be able to pass a background investigation.
• Must be able to maintain both patient and educator points of view and switch back and forth between the two with ease
• Must be able to deliver concise and relevant learner feedback.
