Job summary

TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville seeks a Same Day Surgery Nurse to join our operating team. You’ll participate in patient assessments, education, preoperative preparation, and post-operative care in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and teamwork with surgeons, nurses, and techs. Must hold an RN license, an Associate Degree, and CPR within 30 days of starting.

Qualifications

• RN license and active credentials required or eligible.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) training must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures.
• Prepare patients, IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in sterile briefing and time-out processes.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Deliver high quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, techs, and providers.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and follow-up.
