Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a skilled Health Information Management coder to code and abstract same day surgery records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and enter results into the hospital information system. The role may also handle other outpatient work types as assigned by the Coding Manager.

Qualifications include a Coding Certificate, CCS/CPC/RHIA/RHIT credentials, and at least three years of hospital coding experience; High School diploma required. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Coding Certificate Program required.
• Certifications CCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT required (one of).
• 3 years hospital coding experience preferred including outpatient Same Day Surgery with ICD-10-CM and CPT-4.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract same day surgery medical records following review of clinical documentation.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes and input into hospital Information System.
• May code other outpatient work types as assigned by Coding Manager (Observation, ED, Ancillary, Recurring Accounts).
