Job summary

Ben E. Keith Company seeks a Tax Manager to lead state and local tax activities, focusing on sales and use tax compliance, audit support, and process improvements. This hands-on leader will guide a tax team, research complex issues, and partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field and 5+ years SALT experience, with SAP/Vertex familiarity preferred. Texas operations and multistate exposure are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Taxation, or a related field is required.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in tax, accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with multistate sales and use tax compliance, tax research, and audits.

Responsibilities

• Transaction & Taxability oversight and review of procurement-related tax matters.
• Research and guidance on state and local tax treatment; develop tax materials and training.
• Perform multistate sales and use tax compliance, accruals, filings, and accounting entries.
• Lead process improvements, controls, and documentation for tax functions.
• Manage state and local tax audits; coordinate with stakeholders and authorities.
• Collaborate to improve SAP, Vertex, data quality, and reporting for tax processes.
• Provide practical tax guidance to internal stakeholders and vendors.
