Qualifications

• 4-year degree
• 3 years of professional experience
• License eligible for CPA, CMI, Law License/JD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred; Masters or advanced degree preferred.
• Three (3)+ year(s) experience in state and local tax, individual taxation, tax controversy, or a related area; professional services firm experience preferred.
• Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, business owners, executives, family offices, or similar private clients strongly preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S., without sponsorship, required.

Responsibilities

• Advise on residency and domicile matters for high-net-worth individuals.
• Lead state residency and individual income tax audits and controversies.
• Advise clients on multistate individual income tax matters.
• Coordinate with Baker Tilly's Private Wealth practice and other specialists.
• Research complex state tax issues and contribute to memoranda and client communications.
• Support business development and cross-firm collaboration across Baker Tilly.
• Maintain active client communication and manage expectations.
• Manage multiple engagements including scope, staffing, budgets and deadlines.
• Review and coach associates with timely technical feedback.
