Constellation Energy is seeking a State and Local Tax (SALT) Planning Manager in the Chicago area. The role focuses on identifying and implementing strategies to minimize the state and local tax burden across all business units, including researching tax positions and drafting memoranda.

The position requires CPA or equivalent certification and 5+ years of tax experience in large, public companies, with strong knowledge of tax laws and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or other financial certification and/or advanced degree (JD or MST).
• 5+ years of tax experience in a large publicly traded corporation, including a mix of industry and public accounting.
• Proficient knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• 40 hours of ongoing annual continuing professional education will be required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop strategies to reduce state and local taxes for all business units.
• Manage SALT audits and the appellate process.
• Perform research and draft memoranda on state and local tax matters.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the group as needed.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to implement state and local tax planning strategies.
• Support merger and acquisition activity.
