Job summary

KPMG LLP seeks a Senior Manager to join its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in a dynamic, client-facing role focusing on pre-transaction tax diligence and structuring for private equity, public corporations, and commercial clients. You will examine tax laws as they apply to facts, build Excel models to quantify exposure, and draft memos addressing risk areas.

Lead and mentor staff while handling multiple engagements; strong writing and research skills are essential, along with experience

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of tax research and multi-state tax experience.
• Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX; approved credential required at start date.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and client service teams.
• Strong writing, communication, and tax research abilities; Excel skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-transaction tax due diligence and acquisition structuring services.
• Examine tax laws and form positions applied to transaction facts.
• Create Excel spreadsheets to quantify exposure and tax liabilities.
• Draft due diligence reports and technical memoranda on income/franchise tax questions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff on engagements.
