Job summary

Salt City Trucking is seeking a CDL-A local shuttle driver to operate a dedicated, no-touch frozen grocery shuttle account. You will shuttle reefer trailers between distribution and relay yards, with occasional local support work as needed, and be home daily.

The role requires a valid CDL-A, at least 6 months of driving experience, DOT medical card, and reliable transportation. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with start around 3:00–4:00 PM and potential sixth day during holidays.

Responsibilities

• Shuttle frozen grocery loads in reefer trailers between Westfield, MA and Milford/West Haven, CT.

• Complete at least 3 shuttles per day; typically 5–10 shuttles daily.
• May include trailer moves, store transfers, backhauls or other account support.
• No NYC deliveries; occasional local deliveries if needed.

CDL-A Local Shuttle Driver – Good Pay + $5K Bonus | Home Daily

Earn an average of $70,000 per year while operating a dedicated, no-touch frozen grocery shuttle account. Drivers will shuttle reefer trailers between distribution and relay yards, with occasional local support work as needed.

Pay Details

• Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,400
• Hiring Bonus: $5,000

Job Details

• Shuttle frozen grocery loads in reefer trailers between Westfield, MA and relay yards in Milford or West Haven, CT.
• Drop-and-hook, no-touch shuttle work.
• Complete at least 3 shuttles per day; typical volume is 5–10 shuttles daily.
• May include trailer moves, store transfers, local backhauls, or other account support.
• Drivers will not deliver in New York City.
• Store deliveries, when needed, may involve 2–3 stops per trailer, electric pallet jack unloading, returns, or backhaul pickups.
• Trucks are automatic and slip-seated. They cannot be taken home.
• Reliable personal transportation is required.

Shift Details

• Monday–Friday
• Start time: approximately 3:00–4:00 PM
• Sixth-day work may be required during mandatory holiday periods, potentially for three consecutive weeks.
• Holiday work is required when the holiday falls on a scheduled workday and the account is operating.
• Thanksgiving: Off
• Christmas: Off
• New Year’s: Not guaranteed

Job Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 6 months of truck driving experience
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to operate safely and legally at all times
• No SAP Drivers
• DOT Medical card
• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and inspect tractor and trailer tires
• Willingness to assist with supermarket deliveries, intermodal work, or other dedicated accounts as needed
• No riders or pets
