Madison Reed is seeking a General Manager – Licensed Cosmetologist in California to lead a Hair Color Bar, champion guest satisfaction and drive business growth. You will oversee shifts, colorists, and support staff, while maintaining high service standards and embodying our values.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state you are applying
• 2+ years of salon and retail experience
• 2+ years of operational management experience
• 2+ years supervising other team members and participating in hiring, training and scheduling
• Strong level of technical proficiency as a colorist
• Proven track record of exceeding key operational and performance metrics
• Fluency in English

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and continue to develop leadership skills to provide a top tier employee and guest experience
• Lead by example through sales and service behaviors with guests, resolving issues
• Ensure all aspects of the business are staffed and resourced, including front of house operations, SOPs, retail orders, bookings, services and memberships
• Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed services, including stepping in behind the chair as needed
• Assist district support by training new managers, supporting remotely, or visiting nearby locations on site
• Achieve monthly sales goals and KPIs across retail, services and memberships
• Ensure Hair Color Bar meets company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory and asset security
• Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures
• Coach and develop team members to maximize culture, guest satisfaction and performance
• Manage recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, coaching and training
• Schedule employees based on forecasts and local labor laws, budgets, and breaks
