Job Description

Matono Salon is looking for a reliable, motivated Salon Assistant to join our team in Greenwich Village.

We are a casual, high-end salon focused on excellent hair design, healthy hair, and thoughtful client care. We are looking for someone who is professional, positive, dependable, and interested in growing in the hair industry.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and help create a warm, professional salon experience
• Shampoo, condition, and rinse clients thoroughly
• Apply hair treatments and assist with head massage services
• Assist stylists during haircut, color, and treatment services
• Prepare clients and stations for services
• Sweep and clean stations throughout the day
• Keep shampoo areas, work areas, and common spaces clean and organized
• Wash, sanitize, and organize tools, bowls, brushes, towels, and equipment
• Help with laundry and general salon upkeep
• Restock products and supplies as needed
• Support all stylists fairly and professionally
• Communicate respectfully with stylists, receptionists, clients, and other team members
• Help maintain Matono Salon's standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and client care
