Headchop Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a dry cut salon, seeks a Salon Assistant to support stylists, handle cleansing, drying and curl sets, and help keep the studio running smoothly.

We welcome ambitious, team‑oriented applicants with salon experience; cosmetology licensure is preferred, weekend availability, and a uniform policy. Growth opportunities exist across Headchop and Lil' Chop.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license strongly preferred.
• Completion of a cosmetology school program or actively working through a cosmetology program.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with stylists on clients of all hair textures and types.

Job Description

Salon assistants are the future of the studio! Grow and learn with our team of talented stylists.

Headchop Studio is a dry cut salon located in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn! We specialize in natural curl and texture, but service clients of all hair textures, shapes, and sizes. Our team of artists provide cutting and specialty coloring services to our clients. We're a small team who books up fast and stays in demand! We are always looking for the right fit and welcome anyone interested in our studio to reach out about opportunities to grow with us!

Hiring full and part-time positions! Headchop Studio and Lil' Chop are dry cutting salons located in North and South Williamsburg. Our specialty is dry cutting for all hair textures, shapes, and sizes. Our services include dry cuts, natural curl sets, and blowouts. Plan to start a new chapter in your career with us!

We are looking for folks with ambition and drive. True team players who have experience working in a salon environment. This position has potential for growth within both of our salons (Headchop + Lil' Chop).

Salon Assistant Responsibilities

• Work directly with stylists on their clients of all hair textures and types
• Perform hair cleansing, blow-drying, and natural curl set styling

In addition to shampooing hair and performing styling services, you should be willing to perform light cleaning duties, such as sweeping the floor and doing towel laundry. As our Salon Assistant, you also help with receptionist duties involved in opening and closing the studio. We expect all of our salon stylists and assistants to represent the aesthetic of our studio and keep our clients coming back!

Salon Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• Cosmetology license strongly preferred
• Completion of a cosmetology school program or actively working through a cosmetology program
• Customer service skills
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability
• Ability to retain product and styling knowledge and educate clients on their needs
• You’ll be expected to wear a branded uniform apron over company-approved attire. Our uniform apron was designed with body inclusivity in mind!
