Job summary

Tay Leaf, a Japanese matcha company based in downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a hands-on partner to help cafés build successful matcha programs and secure new wholesale partners.

You will evaluate matcha, explain flavor differences, prepare drinks, and train café teams to achieve consistent results. Los Angeles-based candidates preferred for in-person visits and tastings.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Japanese matcha, including flavor profiles, sourcing, storage, and preparation.
• Hands-on experience preparing and serving matcha in a café, tea shop, or similar setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot taste, texture, temperature, and consistency.
• Confidence leading tastings and training café teams.
• A personable, organized approach to outreach and follow up.
• Comfort with sales and developing new business relationships.

Tay Leaf is a Japanese matcha company based in downtown Los Angeles. We’re looking for someone with strong, hands on matcha knowledge who can help cafés build successful matcha programs and bring new café partners to Tay Leaf.

You should be comfortable evaluating matcha, explaining differences in flavor and quality, preparing excellent drinks, and teaching café teams how to achieve consistent results.
