Salesforce Developer
Passionate about making a difference? Join us at The Brain Tumour Charity and help fight for a world without brain tumours. Your impact matters.

The Brain Tumour Charity is leading the way in research, support, and advocacy for everyone affected by brain tumours. Our mission is simple but urgent: to accelerate a cure for brain tumours and improve life for everyone affected by this devastating disease.

As our Salesforce Developer, you’ll be a key member of our small Salesforce team within Information Technology Solutions and Innovation (ITSI), helping maximise the value of Salesforce across The Charity. You’ll collaborate with teams across the organisation to deliver innovative solutions that support our strategic goals.

You’ll design, develop and optimise customised Salesforce solutions, translate business requirements into effective workflows, troubleshoot issues and help prioritise Salesforce development activities. Using your technical expertise and strategic mindset, you’ll continuously enhance our Salesforce platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, effective and deliver meaningful value to the organisation.

Location: The role is home based with occasional visits to Fleet (Head Office).

Working hours: This role is 37.5 hours per week, with some out of hours working.

Benchmarked salary: c. £60,000 (dependent on level)

We’re looking for a proactive Salesforce Developer with at least three years’ experience and Platform Developer 2 certification. You’ll bring strong Apex, Lightning Flow, API and integration skills, alongside a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement. Collaborative and quality-focused, you’ll help us follow Salesforce best practices, improve existing solutions and ensure our platform continues to meet The Charity’s evolving needs.

  • Take technical ownership of both the NPC and NPSP Salesforce orgs, ensuring their architecture, development and configuration remain secure, scalable, maintainable and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Provide technical leadership for Salesforce, setting and embedding best practices across solution design, Apex, Flow, integrations, testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation.
  • Line manage and develop two Senior Salesforce Administrators, providing direction, coaching and support while effectively prioritising and coordinating the team’s workload.
  • Own and develop the Salesforce data integration layer, continuing to utilise and optimise existing automation tools while ensuring integrations, data flows and APIs are reliable, scalable and well governed.
  • Design, develop and enhance Salesforce solutions that improve business processes, user experience and the overall effectiveness of the platform.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Charity to understand requirements and process challenges, translating business needs into scalable, best-practice technical solutions.
  • Deliver Salesforce projects and enhancements, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements and are delivered to agreed priorities, timescales and standards.
  • Lead the review, documentation and optimisation of existing automations and code, transitioning legacy solutions towards current Salesforce best practices where appropriate.
  • Maintain the security, integrity and quality of Salesforce systems and data, troubleshooting issues, reviewing configurations, resolving defects and supporting data quality improvements.
  • Oversee Salesforce configuration and administration, including users, permissions, objects, fields, page layouts, flows and other platform configuration.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Salesforce environment, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance, scalability, efficiency, resilience and user experience.

Oversee the management and governance of CRM data, ensuring data is maintained in accordance with The Charity’s policies, standards and data protection requirements.

Ensure effective support, documentation and knowledge sharing, working with the wider ITSI team to resolve Salesforce issues, maintain technical and process documentation, and keep abreast of Salesforce releases and emerging best practice.

We encourage you to apply to the role even if you do not meet all of the criteria.
