Job summary

Toptal is seeking an experienced Salesforce Developer to drive delivery of flows, Apex, and Lightning components for a globally distributed team. You will own end-to-end development from discovery-ready backlog to production, using AI copilots and coding agents to accelerate delivery while maintaining security and quality.

You’ll work remotely from Canada or the US, contribute to API and MuleSoft integrations, and participate in peer reviews, testing, and on-call rotation as part of a 12+ month

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
• Strong Apex experience with triggers, classes, batch/async processing, and test classes.
• Proven ability to design and build Salesforce Flows.
• Experience with Git-based development and PR workflows.
• Focus on automated testing and security checks.
• Solid understanding of Salesforce security, sharing rules, bulkification, and governor limits.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with external APIs and MuleSoft.
• Daily use of AI copilots or coding agents for development tasks.
• Ability to review and validate AI-generated code before production.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Salesforce stories from discovery-ready backlog through production with tests and release notes.
• Build and maintain Flows, LWC, and Apex on a bi-weekly cadence.
• Own pull requests end to end, including tests and production-quality validation.
• Collaborate with integration engineers on API/MuleSoft components.
• Use AI tools to scaffold code and validate outputs before shipping.

A global company is speeding up its Salesforce delivery and is looking for Salesforce Developers who combine solid platform engineering with modern, AI-assisted ways of working. You’ll take stories from a discovery-ready backlog all the way to production across Flows, Lightning Web Components, and Apex. AI copilots and coding agents are part of your daily toolkit for development, testing, and documentation. You stay fully accountable for code quality, security, and production readiness. This is a full-time, long-term remote engagement for developers based in the US or Canada.

Location: Remote, USA or Canada

Overlap: 6 hours with US Eastern Time

Commitment: Full-time

Length: 12+ months

What You’ll Do

• Deliver Salesforce stories from a discovery-ready backlog through production, including automated tests and release notes.
• Build and maintain Flows, Lightning Web Components, and Apex functionality on a bi-weekly delivery cadence.
• Own your pull requests end to end, including automated tests, defect fixes, and production-quality validation.
• Build API- and MuleSoft-facing components in close collaboration with integration engineers.
• Use AI pair-programming tools to scaffold Flow, LWC, Apex, and unit tests, and validate their output yourself before it ships.
• Include automated tests and security checks in the same pull request as the related development work.
• Validate bulkification, sharing and security models, and governor-limit compliance.
• Take part in peer code reviews and a P1 on-call rotation.
• Contribute reusable AI prompts and development patterns that raise engineering quality and delivery speed across the team.
• Keep untested AI-generated code out of production and take accountability for production decisions.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
• Strong hands-on Apex experience, including triggers, classes, batch/async processing, and test classes.
• Strong experience designing and building Salesforce Flows.
• Proficiency with Git-based development and pull request workflows.
• A strong automated-testing mindset that covers unit testing and security checks.
• A solid grasp of Salesforce security, sharing rules, bulkification, and governor limits.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with external APIs and MuleSoft-facing solutions.
• Daily, practical use of AI copilots or coding agents for discovery, development, testing, and documentation.
• The judgment to critically review and validate AI-generated code before it reaches production.
• Experience with peer reviews, defect resolution, and production support.
