Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) is hiring a Salesforce Developer to design, develop, and maintain our Salesforce environment. You will improve data capabilities, user experience, and integrations to support flagship programs and scalable impact across EA initiatives.
As part of the Salesforce Team, you will collaborate with Events, Online, Groups, and Community Health teams to translate requirements into reliable systems, while maintaining security and performance best practices.
We're looking for a Salesforce Developer to join our team. This role is responsible for customizing and building applications on our Salesforce platform that keep CEA's flagship programs running smoothly and enable the wider team to achieve ambitious growth goals, expanding EA's talent pipelines and scaling our impact. This is an individual contributor position on our Salesforce Team, reporting to the Salesforce Engineer, Ari Elkhatib, and collaborating closely with the Events, Online, Groups, and Community Health Teams.
The Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) stewards the movement of people putting effective altruism principles into practice to solve the world's most pressing problems. We're working to build a flourishing future by applying evidence, reason, and compassion to challenges like global poverty, animal suffering, and risks from transformative AI.
Our work centers on growing and supporting a global community of people who rigorously analyze where they can do the most good - and take action on those insights. Current strategic priorities include increasing understanding of effective altruism and its principles, growing the number of people who are motivated by EA principles to take significant action to address pressing problems, and diversifying funding sources for high-impact work.
We had significant success in 2025, building momentum within CEA. Our headcount grew from 42 to 66 core staff. Program participation (e.g., events, courses, groups) grew by 20-25% year over year. We merged with EA Funds and are rapidly scaling up our capacity for grantmaking and associated fundraising.
In 2026, we've maintained ambitious momentum while building the foundations for a step-change in the wider EA ecosystem's growth trajectory from 2027 onwards. We're in the midst of the best fundraising year in CEA's history and are looking for the right talent to help us take advantage of the many opportunities in front of us.
The Salesforce Team builds and maintains CEA's CRM infrastructure, covering the systems that power event registration, grants tracking, virtual program management, and community engagement. You will be part of a nimble team, reporting into the Salesforce Engineer and working closely with a Salesforce administrator. The Salesforce Team with internal teams including Events, Online, Groups and Community Health to translate operational needs into scalable, reliable systems, and act as the organizational steward for contact and activity data across CEA.
We're hiring a Salesforce Developer to develop and maintain our Salesforce environment, enhance its user experience and data capabilities, and help the team effectively leverage the system. You will help our flagship programs (including events , online courses , EA groups , and the EA Forum ) run smoothly, amplifying their impact and improving cost-effectiveness. Ultimately, you will enable the wider CEA team to achieve ambitious growth goals, expanding EA's talent pipelines and scaling our impact.
