Salesforce Architect – Clinical & Patient Services
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Architect with specialized expertise in Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud to lead architecture design and implementation for patient services and clinical operations solutions. This role designs scalable, secure, patient-centric architectures supporting end-to-end patient journeys, from onboarding, benefits verification, and enrollment through therapy orchestration, adherence support, adverse event management, and personalized engagement. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience architecting patient services programs (PSP), hub services, and clinical operations workflows in highly regulated life sciences environments, with working knowledge of GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11, and global privacy regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Salesforce Health Cloud/Life Sciences Cloud implementations, with a focus on Patient Services Programs (PSP) and clinical operations.
- Design patient data models (Unified Patient Record, Care Plans, Patient Journeys) and architect solutions for enrollment/onboarding, benefits verification, hub services and case management, therapy orchestration and adherence, next-best-action engagement, adverse event/pharmacovigilance intake, copay assistance, and patient portals.
- Define technical strategy, integration architecture, security and sharing model, and governance for multi-org or hyper-cloud environments.
- Establish canonical data models and APIs with MDM, hub partners, eRx/eBV/PA, and omnichannel services; oversee FHIR/HL7 integrations and performance optimization.
- Architect integrations between Salesforce and external systems (LIMS, ERP, EHR, logistics/courier platforms) using MuleSoft or similar tools.
- Ensure data lineage, identity resolution, and consent enforcement across patient touchpoints.
Security, Privacy & Compliance
- Embed platform security (Shield, encryption, BYOK), SSO/JIT, auditability, and retention aligned to patient privacy and AE/PC reporting requirements.
- Ensure Salesforce best practices, governor-limit optimization, performance tuning, and code quality; guide teams on security model, data access, and compliance needs.
Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead a team of architects delivering Salesforce Health Cloud, Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Experience Cloud solutions for life sciences clients.
- Provide technical governance, conduct design/code reviews, and manage architectural risk and technical debt; review and approve technical designs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor translating clinical and commercial operations requirements into technical architecture; partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize value and shape release scope.
- Track the Salesforce roadmap (Health/Life Sciences Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Einstein), evaluate fit for patient-services use cases, and support pre-sales discovery, POCs, and estimation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of Salesforce experience, including 3+ years in an architect-level role.

- Strong command of Salesforce data model, security architecture, and automation (Flow, Apex).
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical or commercial requirements into technical architecture.
- Experience in clinical trial operations (chain of custody/identity) or commercial patient services and hub scheduling.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
