Position: Sales Trainee (Account Manager)

Locations: Colfax, NC, Greenville, NC & Richmond, VA Area

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Our customer base includes manufacturing, healthcare, construction, energy, hospitality, food service, and more.

The Sales Trainee will complete an accelerated training program focusing on developing professional selling skills and industry knowledge. The program covers our industry, products, customers, and sales techniques. Upon successful completion, the Trainee will be placed in an Account Manager role.

Training Program Breakdown:
  1. Learning and Development (50%)
  2. Understanding the business and developing sales skills
  3. Maintaining safety standards
  4. Completing online and classroom training
  5. Gaining industry, product, and customer knowledge
  6. Practicing sales techniques and building positive work habits
  7. Observing sales calls with existing account managers
  8. Calling on existing and new accounts
  9. Understanding financial concepts like Gross Margin, Operating Income, EBITDA
  1. Practical Application (50%)
  2. Traveling within the territory to meet customers
  3. Developing plans to grow customer base
  4. Managing Accounts Receivable to minimize financial risk
  5. Communicating with internal departments about customer status
  6. Creating sales growth strategies
  7. Delivering sales presentations
  8. Collaborating with local branch managers
  9. Qualifying sales leads
  10. Reporting on territory performance and market trends
  11. Submitting sales and activity reports
  12. Supporting customer compliance and safety training
  13. Performing other duties as assigned
Candidate Match:

To succeed, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of gases or welding supplies is a plus
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organization, and computer skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; experience may substitute
