Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Sales Support Specialist (Commercial Lending Assistant) to join our Massachusetts team. The role supports lenders, prepares loan documentation, and helps manage client portfolios in a fast-paced banking environment.

The ideal candidate has banking exposure, especially in lending support, and is proficient with MS Office. This full-time on-site position offers competitive compensation and benefits, with no remote option presently available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years in sales or lending support, or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience.
• 1+ year banking experience, preferably in a lending role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong compliance and risk awareness in banking.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing Sales Support: Provide ongoing sales support to Lenders, including identifying sales and cross-sell opportunities, coordinating materials for presentations, setting up sales calls, maintaining prospect lists, and making joint calls as needed.
• Documentation Support: Originates, processes, and ensures accuracy of loan documentation for closings, entering financial information into the loan system and ensuring all documentation is included prior to closing.
• Ongoing Credit Servicing Support: Resolving documentation exception issues, maintaining service levels, updating financial statements, and preparing files for portfolio reviews. Run reports to track maturing lines/loans and service levels.
• Monitoring of Past Due Credits: Communicate, report, and follow up on portfolio past dues to ensure they remain current, while maintaining customer contact.
• Ongoing Customer Service/Office Support: Coordinates opening of deposit and other banking services with branch partners. Handles customer requests for information and problem resolution.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in sales or lending support OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree with experience in sales or lending support
• Additional Requirements:
  • Must have 1+ years of experience in banking, ideally in a lending-specific role
  • Experience with:
    • Real Estate and UCC lending requirements
    • Assisting multiple bankers throughout the process
    • Working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Preferred Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on compliance and risk awareness in a banking environment
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

If hired in Massachusetts, the base pay for this position is generally between $30.94 and $41.85. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
