Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Sales Support Specialist II in Irvine, CA.

You will provide advanced administrative, commercial, and operational support to the Sales team in an aerospace manufacturing environment, acting as a liaison among customers, sales reps, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to ensure timely processing of inquiries, quotations, orders, and contract requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales support, customer service, account coordination, or commercial operations.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
  • Experience supporting quotations, contract review, and order management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, order status requests, and routine commercial matters.
  • Support outside sales representatives and account managers by preparing quotations, proposals, and customer presentations.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding schedules, lead times, pricing, and order fulfillment.
  • Assist in managing key customer accounts and developing positive customer relationships.
  • Coordinate customer visits, audits, and business review meetings.
  • Prepare and process RFQs utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and finance inputs.
  • Review customer purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with quoted terms.
  • Analyze customer contracts, specifications, and flow-down requirements.
  • Ensure customer requirements are communicated to applicable internal departments.
  • Support contract review processes and maintain associated records.
  • Enter and manage customer orders within ERP systems.
  • Monitor orders to ensure adherence to commitments.
  • Coordinate order changes, schedule adjustments, and expedite requests.
  • Track backlog and delivery schedules to identify risks.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales data within company systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, and Shipping.
  • Assist in resolving delivery, quality, and production-related issues impacting customers.
  • Coordinate responses to corrective action requests and supplier inquiries.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition programs.
  • Generate sales reports, backlog reports, forecasting data, and customer performance metrics.
  • Monitor key account activity and assist with sales forecasting.
  • Analyze trends related to orders, quotes, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare presentations and business reports for management.

Job Description

Position Summary: The Sales Support Specialist II provides advanced administrative, commercial, and operational support to the Sales team within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Customer and Sales Support


  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, order status requests, and routine commercial matters.

  • Support outside sales representatives and account managers by preparing quotations, proposals, and customer presentations.

Quotation and Contract Management


  • Prepare and process Requests for Quote (RFQs) utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and finance inputs.

  • Ensure customer requirements are communicated to applicable internal departments.

  • Support contract review processes and maintain associated records.



Order Management


  • Enter and manage customer orders within ERP systems.

  • Monitor orders throughout the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to customer commitments.

  • Coordinate order changes, schedule adjustments, and expedite requests.

  • Track backlog and delivery schedules to identify potential risks.

  • Maintain accurate customer and sales data within company systems.



Cross-Functional Coordination


  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, and Shipping departments to support customer requirements.

  • Assist in resolving delivery, quality, and production-related issues impacting customers.

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales support, customer service, account coordination, or commercial operations.

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and production environments.

  • Understanding of customer contracts, purchase orders, and commercial terms.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, M3, or similar platforms.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with AS9100 aerospace quality systems.

  • Knowledge of aerospace customer requirements and contractual flow-downs.

  • Familiarity with government contracts and defense industry requirements.

  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or HubSpot.

  • Background supporting OEM and Tier 1 aerospace customers.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.50 to $32.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
