Job description

Overview

HarperCollins is seeking a strategic, data-driven, and highly motivated Sales Support Associate to help advance our Amazon print and Kindle business across the Adult, Children's, Harlequin, and Harper360 divisions. The Online & Digital Sales team manages print and digital sales to Amazon, one of our highest-visibility and fastest-moving accounts. This role bridges sales strategy with day-to-day execution, serving as a key partner to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.

Under limited supervision, this is a role for someone highly organized and self-guided, who will support promotional business initiatives, analyze marketplace data to develop actionable insights and best practices, and help create sustainable processes and tools for a fast-growing account. Working closely with Sales Representatives, the Growth & Analytics team, the Digital Audio team, Finance, and Amazon, this role supports and optimizes recurring daily and weekly workflows. This position plays an important role in enhancing team efficiency and allowing greater focus on sales growth and strategy.

The ideal candidate is both a hands-on executor and a forward-thinking strategist, comfortable interpreting data and energized by working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Promotions Development, Analysis & Reporting
  • Support multiple aspects of the promotional business across Amazon (Kindle deals, Kindle Unlimited, BookBub, etc.) and other partners — including monthly nominations, confirmations, removals, budgets, and performance results.
  • Curate promo results and analysis, codifying best practices from learnings.
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and account-level data to identify new opportunities throughout the lifecycle of a book.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis for deal events — Prime Day, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, etc.— from nomination and optimization through post-event reporting.
Process Improvement & Cross-Team Coordination
  • Identify inflection points to introduce tools and automation.
  • Build and maintain documentation and workflows for recurring analytical cycles.
  • Monitor deadlines and streamline planning across all reps, including cross-divisionally when relevant.
  • Curate the team's weekly agenda, support reps in preparation for Publisher-facing meetings, and maintain central planning grids.
Presentation & Account Strategy
  • Develop account-facing presentations and shape their strategic content, including seasonal and event decks.
  • Represent the business and its needs in cross-functional meetings, and in internal leadership and account meetings, contributing insights from marketplace trends to title-level opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3+ years of experience in Publishing sales, ecommerce, digital or account management, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and comfort leveraging AI tools, with strong analytical and critical-thinking ability; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project-management experience, with a track record of streamlining or automating workflows.
  • Presentation skills, with the ability to represent the business to internal leadership and external accounts.
  • Initiative and the ability to self-direct, prioritizing across competing deadlines in a high-velocity environment.
  • Deep interest in or knowledge of the Amazon and digital marketplace, trendspotting, and Ai a plus.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
  • Hybrid work schedule (3 days/week in office).
  • A drive to create order and structure, with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Innovative thinker with a focus on process improvement and efficiency.
  • Passion for books, reading, marketplace trends, and the digital marketplace.
