This is a position with grade 13.

This position reports to District Sales Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the sales of Electrification Smart Buildings products within the Richmond, VA and surrounding areas, in line with the division strategy. You will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also identify and develop new sales opportunities. While this is a remote position, successful candidates will be located in the Richmond, VA metro area. This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and tracking upcoming sales opportunities and influencing customer specifications to favor ABB and increase market share in the commercial, industrial, and governmental segments.
  • Educating customers about differentiating products through technical presentations, introducing new products, and identifying target customers.
  • Collaborating with Product Managers to identify product gaps, provide input on new product launches, and share customer feedback.
  • Generating cross-selling leads and facilitating business with ABB Industrial Solutions.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in electrical products.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners.
  • Knowledge of the regional electrical industry and ABB products is preferred.
  • Ability to use analytical software and sales tools; Salesforce.com experience is preferred.
  • Six Sigma or similar quality training is a plus.
  • Understanding of the full portfolio of products and services, including power distribution and installation products, is preferred.
