Job summary

Assurant in Rapid City is seeking a Sales Specialist to grow our extended warranty contract business by selling service contracts on major appliances and consumer electronics while delivering world-class service.

You will cultivate relationships, handle inbound calls, identify cross-sell opportunities, and meet performance metrics. The role is onsite at Rapid City with remote work potential after an agreed period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months previous customer service experience.
• Able to work 8-hour shift/40 hours a week between 6:00 am MST and 6:00 pm MST.
• Sales aptitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to adapt to change and maintain a positive attitude.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and develop customer relationships to identify and present sales opportunities.
• Work with customers via inbound calls to create a positive call experience and protect what matters most.
• Apply sales tools to identify cross-sell opportunities and sell extended service contracts.
• Actively listen to customer needs to provide solutions and make them feel supported.
• Resolve questions and maintain contracts; conduct file maintenance.
• Navigate multiple programs/software for information and transactions.
• Strive to meet and exceed department metrics and goals.
• Adhere to all company policies; onsite in Rapid City with potential remote work after training.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Cultivate and develop customer relationships to identify and present sales opportunities to develop and maintain long-term customers.
• Work closely with customers and clients through inbound calls to create a positive, memorable call experience, while helping customers to protect everything that matters most.
• Apply sales tools and techniques to identify cross‑sale opportunities and sell extended service contracts.
• Actively listen to customer’s needs and concerns to provide successful solutions to ensure the customer feels supported and valued.
• Resolve customer questions and provide resolutions to existing customer contracts and conduct file maintenance.
• Navigate multiple programs/software for information gathering, trouble shooting and transaction processing.
• Strive to meet and exceed department metrics and business goals.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• This position will be onsite at our Rapid City location but will have the option to work remotely after an agreed upon period.

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?

Pay Range

$17.34 - $27.75

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
