About the Sales / Solution Engineer Role

We are seeking skilled Sales / Solution Engineers to support the successful adoption and operation of Backend.AI among our enterprise clients in the U.S. and globally. In this role, you will serve as a technical advisor throughout the client lifecycle—supporting deployment, training, issue resolution, and ongoing optimization of AI infrastructure.

You will gain first-hand experience with real-world AI deployment scenarios, including system integration, performance tuning, and operational troubleshooting in both on-premise and cloud environments. Insights and feedback gathered from clients will also help shape the future of our platform by identifying opportunities to enhance usability and performance.

This is an ideal role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and customer success, and is excited to grow with a fast-moving team building foundational infrastructure for the next generation of AI innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical pre-sales and post-sales engagements with prospective and current clients
  • Deploy and operate Backend.AI in enterprise environments (on-premise and cloud)
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and provide responsive technical support
  • Deliver product demonstrations and technical workshops to prospects and partners
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex issues
  • Gather field feedback and contribute to roadmap and feature development
  • Assist in technical documentation and customer onboarding
  • Identify expansion opportunities and support business development efforts

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, solution engineering, DevOps, or system engineering
  • Understanding of Linux environments and hands-on experience with basic system administration and operation
  • Ability to automate routine operational tasks using scripting languages such as Python or Bash
  • Strong knowledge of containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and customer-first thinking
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or selling AI/ML infrastructure or platforms
  • Hands-on experience with server cluster deployment and administration
  • Familiarity with AI model training or inference workflows
  • Experience deploying systems in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of networking and shared storage in enterprise environments
