Region: MidSouth. Specific location is Alabama, Mississippi, Florida panhandle

Summary:

This position is an integral part of the MidSouth Regional Sales Team and carries a range of responsibilities outlined below. Along with the required sales and service requirements, a successful person in this position can gather/analyze key process data to monitor and differentiate product performance or identify improvement opportunities on customer machines.

This position works closely with a regional sales team, key decision makers in each customer account and a range of other Voith colleagues. The position is accountable for sales and orders compared to an annual target while managing other key business elements including inventory, accounts receivable, claims and expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with customers and decision makers to understand their specific goals and needs and communicate those needs within Voith.
  • Develop and execute business plans for specific accounts aligned with customer goals and the regional business strategy.
  • Collect and analyze customer data to monitor product performance, differentiate Voith products from competition or identify continuous improvement opportunities at customer sites.
  • Manage accounts to budget or above for sales and orders, claims and complaints, accounts receivable, and travel & entertainment expenses.
  • Communicate regularly with sales manager and team members to ensure proper account coverage, service activities and outage support – both planned and unplanned.
  • Collaborate with Voith customer service, manufacturing, applications, and administrative support to accomplish objectives.
  • Maintain sales forecasting and manage growth opportunities for the future.
  • Maintain the customer relationship using various software (SalesForce, Global Vision, etc).
  • Make sales and service calls to customer mills to promote sales. Perform routine inspections and technical service functions. Respond to unscheduled outages and specific needs as they arise.
  • Publish visit and measurement reports via SalesForce to communicate and archive mill activities.
  • Coordinate / assist in installations. Keep the appropriate database updated for inventory management.
  • Promote value-added products and technical services and present any necessary data analysis or reports for customer understanding and acceptance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Secondary education preferred but not required with relevant work experience.
  • Experience in technical / industrial sales or experience in the paper industry preferred.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, primarily by car. Overnight hotel stays required at times.
  • Good communication skills required, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical thinking and familiarity with standard Microsoft software programs required.
  • Ability to demonstrate data analysis experience and to discuss methodology and tools.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, climb stairs, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Standard Personal Protective Equipment is required frequently including ear plugs, hard-hat, safety glasses and safety-toed shoes.
