Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Sales Consultant for Laboratory Products & Distribution to grow our brand in the Gulf Coast/Alabama region. You will lead complex, cross-functional sales efforts, build relationships with labs and national accounts, and drive continuous improvement in service, pricing and contract execution.

The role requires deep lab product knowledge, territory management skills, and a willingness to travel, including overnights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Sales experience in distribution or healthcare preferred; lab experience beneficial.
  • Lives within the managed territory (within 30 minutes of city where largest prime vendors are located).
  • Experience working with Microsoft applications and Salesforce CRM.
  • Understands the sales process in a fast-paced, highly complex selling environment.
  • Must be experienced with business development and cold calling.
  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen.
  • Willing to travel overnight.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Customer/vendor credentialing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a large territory to increase account penetration and customer satisfaction in the lab space.
  • Drive new business, providing optimal service and targeting Cardinal brand conversion opportunities and growth across the lab products, portfolio and distribution services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including national accounts, GPOs and vendors to achieve results.
  • Initiate and own territory management principles: account planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation, deal economics.
  • Negotiate contracts locally, including costing agreements with manufacturers.
  • Ensure optimal service levels and hold internal teams accountable for operations, pricing and inventory.
  • Validate contacts are loaded timely and contracts are back dated correctly, maintaining contract integrity; submit account maintenance in the system.
  • Provide technical product support, demonstrations, samples and staff training.
  • Complete administrative tasks: expense reports, pipeline, SFDC records, market feedback.
  • Attend sales meetings, trainings, conventions and trade shows; regional, divisional and national events.
  • Maintain sales activity levels (visits, calls, products presented per account).
  • Assist distribution order support and coordination; help customers with back-orders and service issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry landscape including GPOs, healthcare economics and competitors.
  • Travel within territory to call on accounts including overnight trips.

Job Summary

The Lab sales team focuses on selling high-quality Cardinal Health™ Brand Laboratory Products and Services tailored for every lab discipline, including custom kitting and distribution services into hospital and independent labs. The Sales Consultant , Laboratory Products & Distribution has the responsibility for growing Cardinal Health Brand, Preferred National Brand products & distribution services in these facilities. This individual will take the lead role in delivering complex broad-based portfolio of solutions that meet customer needs and builds and sustains relationships with current and new accounts. Our Cardinal Health Laboratory team is deeply knowledgeable into the clinical lab industry and the challenges it faces, including increasing complexity, workforce shortages, budget constraints and evolving supply chain requirements. Our comprehensive product offering is continuously expanding to meet the requirements of our customers, and we support the end‑to‑end testing workflow with products for every lab discipline, including custom kitting solutions, capital equipment and point of care options.

Territory

Gulf Coast Panhandle / Alabama

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing a large territory with the directobjectiveto increase account penetration, and customer satisfaction within the labspace.
  • Drivenew business, providingoptimalservice, targeting Cardinal brand conversion opportunities and growth across the lab products portfolioanddistributionservices.
  • Collaborates both internally and externally within various business units such as key contacts within national accounts,GPO ,and other vendors toarchiveresults.
  • Initiates and takes ownership of principles of territory management,includingaccount planning, selling processes, post-sales implementation processes, dealeconomics.

Anticipated pay range: $128,000 - $157,800 (includes targeted variable pay)
