Job summary

Bunzl Processor Division is seeking a Field Sales Rep for the Chicago and Northern IL area. The role focuses on developing sales within meat processing, dairy, produce, and other food processors, with emphasis on industrial packaging, PPE, safety equipment, sanitation, and plant supplies.

The Sales Rep will build customer relationships, handle inquiries, assist in managing Accounts Receivables, and coordinate with internal departments. Travel is required to cover an expanding regional territory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in professional Selling, Marketing or Business a plus.
• Must have practical sales experience in relevant markets such as food/meat processing, industrial processing, or plant operating supplies.
• Experience selling in paper, packaging, janitorial/sanitation or food service distribution is preferred.
• Strong independent work capability and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales through greater penetration within existing accounts and new accounts.
• Meet or exceed sales and margin goals.
• Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and satisfaction.

Description

Bunzl Processor Division is currently seeking a Field Sales Rep for the Chicago and Northern IL, area. The Sales Rep will be responsible for creating, developing and driving sales within the following target markets: Meat Processing, Dairy, Produce, as well as other food processors. Their focus will be in the following product categories, industrial packaging, personal protection, safety equipment, sanitation, material handling, and other plant supply needs.

In addition to serving as a business development partner, the Sales Rep will build customer relationships, handle customer complaints and inquiries, assist in managing Accounts Receivables, and effectively communicate with all appropriate internal departments.

Responsibilities:

• Increase sales through greater penetration within existing accounts, while also prospecting and building business with new accounts
• Meet or exceed sales and margin goals
• Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
• Implement and manage pricing strategies within all accounts
• Work with manufacturers’ representatives to sell promoted items
• Attend sales meetings and meet with Sales Manager on a regular basis
• Communicate and cooperate in a productive manner with all departments
• Utilize all appropriate VIP (Dimensions of Professional Selling) techniques and methodologies

Requirements:

• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in professional Selling, Marketing or Business a plus
• Must have practical sales experience in at least one of the following markets: food/meat processing, industrial processing, plant operating supplies, personal protection equipment or related safety items
• Previous experience selling in a paper, packaging, janitorial/sanitation or food service distribution industry is preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers and outside parties
• Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to utilize acceptable mathematical skills
• Demonstrate a friendly and professional experience
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel
• Experience with IBM I-Series/AS400 operating system highly desired
• Travel is required, sometimes with overnight stays
• Previous experience working with a CRM (Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.) is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 and is based on education, experience, and geographical area.
