Join to apply for the Sales Representative/Assessment Consultant – School Assessment role at Pearson.

The Assessment Consultant (education) is the primary consultant and sales territory owner who embodies the consultative sales model to drive revenue. Assessment Consultants are viewed as thought leaders within Pearson’s School Assessment organization. They are well versed in School Assessment product offerings, beyond basic features and benefits, working closely with customers to determine optimal solutions to meet customer needs.

Assessment Consultants will use their professional knowledge of the market, gained from extensive formal education and/or field experiences, to identify and sell solutions that address customer problems (e.g., providing intervention/treatment through accurate diagnosis and intervention).

The primary goal is to help the Schools Assessment division achieve quota by expanding and uncovering new sales opportunities, providing content and practice-based consultation, and supporting customers throughout their journey with Pearson School Assessment.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed sales quota
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Pearson District Sales products and services through self-study, collaboration, and training
  • Understand the Education K-12 vertical, industry, and assigned territory
  • Create a strategic business development plan to meet territory objectives
  • Stay informed on federal, state, and local funding options
  • Keep accurate activity tracking in CRM (Salesforce)
  • Produce accurate sales forecasts as required
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and articulate market trends in assessment
  • Strong organizational skills and broad understanding of assessment tools
  • Responsive to customer inquiries during live sessions
Qualifications
  • Degree in school psychology, education, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years sales experience with proven success
  • Experience selling to high-level decision makers in K-12 education
  • Strong relationships with decision makers (e.g., Special Education Directors, Superintendents)
  • Excellent communication and business development skills
  • Experience with Salesforce
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Preference to reside in Michigan

Salary ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 annually, with eligibility for sales incentives. Benefits information available on request.
