Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Sales Representative in Arlington Heights, IL to expand our Electrical testing and certification services across Industrial, Home Appliance and Electronics sectors. The role involves extensive client engagement, trade shows, and proposal development to drive growth.

The base salary ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 with monthly incentive eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and PTO.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of prior successful sales experience.
• Superior interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Sell Intertek’s services within assigned vertical, account, and territory through client research, prospecting and networking.
• Work with Sales Manager to define territory and develop sales.

What are we looking for?

The Sales Representative position supports the Electrical business by direct sales activity including increasing existing sales in Industrial, Home Appliance and Electronics and identifying and developing new business opportunities within assigned territory/accounts. We’re looking for somebody who is self-sufficient with an entrepreneurial approach in their work. The Sales Representative will spend at least 50% of the time outside of the office visiting clients, attending trade shows, etc. Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $65K-$80K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. When working with Intertek our Sales Representatives are offered a base salary plus monthly incentive eligibility based on sales goals.

What will you be doing?

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record
• Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and to perform all clerical functions inherent to the position

• TIC experience with Industrial, Home Appliance and Electronics product testing and certification
