Job summary

Convergint is looking for a full-time Sales Representative to join our team and drive the technology and evaluation stage of the sales process. You will work with the Account Executive as the key technical advisor and contribute to our growth and client satisfaction.

You’ll provide world-class service, leverage knowledge of building automation or security systems, and support project teams throughout the sales cycle. Proficiency with MS Office is valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carries out in-depth analysis of plans, specifications and site visits to determine requirements.
• Prepares estimates and quotes for each project using estimation tools; responds to RFIs/RFPs.
• Articulates value proposition of products and services to customers.
• Develops implementation plans with sales teams for customer proposals.
• May develop incremental new business for the assigned territory.
• Performs other duties as required.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Carries out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and site visits in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements.
• Prepares estimates and quotes for each project utilizing estimation software tool. Responds to customer requests for information including the completion of RFIs and RFPs.
• Understands requirements and articulate the value proposition of CTC products and services to customer.
• Provides input, review and coordination of the preparation of shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications for completeness, showing location of devices, equipment, wiring, etc.
• Advises Sales Professional and Project Manager regarding products needed for installation, identifying any items which have longer lead times.
• May prepare and/or review formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
• Develops solutions that meet customer requirements and work closely with sales team to develop customer implementation plans as part of sales proposals.
• May develops incremental new business for the assigned territory.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 1-3 years sales engineering, estimating or equivalent

Salary Range: $66,400 - $75,000
